SHIMMERY  CHIMES

These chimes have been modified so that each chime produces two microtonally close tones simultaneously. This creates the beating effect that gives them their shimmering tone. The set is tuned to a particular scale, but only roughly. That’s because this kind of tuning can never be accurate since it involves two slightly detuned notes in each chime.
