HIPPY PAPPY
Hippy Pappy is like a set of panpipes with a hand-held blow tube. The pipes are positioned in a stand and the player blows through the flexible tube holding the nozzled end in position over whichever pipe is to sound. Hippy Pappy is rather quiet when played acoustically, but there is a small mic positioned adjacent to the nozzle, picking up the sound near the source. The microphone also unavoidably picks up a lot of wind turbulence noise. That is part of the sound-character of the instrument.
